Breed: Appendix
Color: Dapple Grey
Height: 16.1 hh
Age: 5
Gender: Mare
Briar Rose was foaled in May 2000, and we purchased her as a hunter/jumper/eventer prospect in July 2005 when she had only recently been started walk/trot western, primarily on the trails. She is a very quiet and laid-back horse, so easy to be around in every way, and a pleasure for the you, the vet, the farrier, etc. to handle. Not "mare-ish." New experiences do not faze her in the least. She has been coming along well in her jumping and dressage and is ready to go on to your chosen discipline. If that includes trail riding or hacking cross-country, you will be in for a real pleasure. She gallops quietly in a snaffle and does not mind barking dogs chasing her! Up to date on all vet and farrier care, etc. Went barefoot till now happily (including on rocky hard trails this summer), but we have her in front shoes now since she is jumping more. Very sound and sane. Still young, and therefore can buck once in a blue moon, so not for a complete beginner or little kid. That is the only "vice" she has ever shown. Will make a great hunter, equitation horse, field hunter, trail/pleasure horse, or maybe a jumper or eventer but we haven't pushed her at all on the speed issue. Please contact seller for more information or photos. Price is negotiable if she sells soon (to avoid further training and boarding costs). This horse does not yet have show experience; when she does, her price will increase.
