“Don” is a very kind, intelligent horse and I have found him absolutely honest in his commitment to learn. I feel very lucky to own him, and to offer this incredible horse to the United States for breeding. Don is the only Trakehner in the United States or Germany to produce three approved sons his first year of breeding. Don's bloodlines combine the Olympic Superstars of Jumping and Dressage, through Abdullah (Sired by Donauwind, the full brother to Don's Dam, Donaufahrt vom Schimmelhof) and Peron (Sired by Mahagoni also Don's sire). Donaufürst is one of the last remaining sons of the famous Mahagoni. Mahagoni was ranked tenth in the world for producing competitive CDI Grand Prix Dressage Horses internationally for the last ten years. Donaufürst was evaluated by the German Verband in 1998, earning the exceptional scores of 9 for walk, 8 for trot, 9 for canter, and 9 for temperament. He began his career in Canada where he won numerous championships in Hunter/Jumper competitions. His offspring there continue to bring in hundreds of Hunter Championships.
